To provide an organisation for ASEAN Accountants for the further advancement of the status of the profession in the region with the view to establishing an ASEAN philosophy on the accounting profession.
In conjunction with the 120th AFA Council Meeting, the ASEAN Federation of Accountants (AFA) will hold its 19th AFA Conference, to be hosted by the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA), on 4 December 2015 at the AIM Conference Center Manila. The chosen theme for the conference is “ASEAN Integration for SMEs and SMPs: Opportunities and Challenges”.
This one-day conference will bring together regional and global experts, professional accountancy organisations, regulators, policy makers, standard-setters, other interested parties, and more importantly accountants in the Philippine to discuss the effects of the ASEAN integration to particularly the ASEAN SMEs and SMPs. The conference will also look at adoption and implementation of quality assurance review as a component for the profession in successfully welcoming the ASEAN integration.
All ten primary members of AFA, representing the ten ASEAN countries together with the four associate members and a number of prominent Philippine stakeholders are expected to participate in this conference.
